Amperfied GmbH, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), has established itself as a preferred partner of regional energy suppliers in the expansion of intelligent charging infrastructure.
Projects such as those with Stadtwerke Walldorf and BürgerEnergieGenossenschaft Kraichgau eG (BEG Kraichgau) demonstrate how local cooperation with short communication channels and fast implementation times can create sustainable mobility solutions. The resulting insights form the basis for supra regional charging infrastructure projects that make electric vehicles more suitable and attractive for everyday use.
‘We are actively driving the energy transition in Germany with our nationwide charging solutions,’ said Robin Karpp, managing director of Amperfied GmbH. ‘The faster the public charging infrastructure is expanded in Germany, the more the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles will increase.’
In close partnership with Amperfied, Stadtwerke Walldorf has installed 15 charge points at its headquarters that efficiently utilise the electricity from the building's photovoltaic systems. ‘As a small municipal utility, we tend to stay in the region and have found a partner in Amperfied that is literally just a few hundred metres away from us,’ explained Pascal Klaiber, Head of climate protection at Stadtwerke Walldorf. Together with its infrastructure subsidiary DHV e-net, Stadtwerke Walldorf can now offer everything – from installation to commissioning and connection of the backend. One of the successful customer projects is the Partner-Port multi-storey car park in Walldorf, which has been equipped with 19 charge points. Further expansion up to a three digit number of charge points with dynamic load management is already being considered.
DHV e-net also works independently of projects for Stadtwerke Walldorf as an Amperfied installation partner. In Dielheim, DHV e-net set up an Amperfied AC charging station connect.public for BEG Kraichgau.

BEG Kraichgau, based in Sinsheim, Baden-Württemberg, has set itself the goal of offering charging with renewable energy in addition to generating and selling it. In collaboration with Amperfied, an overall concept was implemented at a BEG commercial site that enables charging for employees, customers and the local EV rental company. Intelligent load management optimises the use of solar power; the Amperfied backend enables the billing of charging processes, especially for rental vehicles.
‘We want to drive forward the energy transition in its entirety, including charging infrastructure and e-mobility,’ explained Florian Oeß, deputy chairman of BEG Kraichgau. ‘For us, Amperfied is a partner at eye level. The regional proximity and technical expertise were the deciding factors.’ BEG Kraichgau now operates more than 40 public charge points and plans to further expand its infrastructure in collaboration with Amperfied.
‘The expansion of the charging infrastructure starts locally: with the wallbox in the garage or multistorey car park, the charging facility at the employer and the charge point next to the town hall. In addition to the large charging hubs on motorways or in supermarket car parks, these visible charging options influence the decision for or against an EV,’ emphasised Robin Karpp. ‘The collaboration with energy suppliers such as Stadtwerke Walldorf and BEG Kraichgau shows how regional cooperation can drive forward a sustainable and efficient charging infrastructure, especially at a local level. Amperfied's strength lies in the combination of modern technology and an excellent relationship with partners and customers. We use this regional exchange to derive standards that also benefit customers outside the region.’
In addition to modern charging technology, Amperfied offers a comprehensive service portfolio that makes the operation of charging infrastructure much easier. This includes a backend with an integrated payment and billing solution, the integration of existing charge points, maintenance services and flexible financing options that significantly reduce the initial investment required by customers.
